Connection Center San Antonio

Empowering Teachers, Nurturing Support

Connection Center started providing weekly peer support to the childcare teachers at the YWCA-Olga Madrid location on Castroville Road. With lots of creativity and care, Peer Specialist Julie Marschlowitz has created a welcoming, safe space for the teachers to come for peer support. Paying attention to the needs of the teachers, Julie adapts the sessions, making them relevant–often focused on self-care and stress release–yet relatively short, so as to honor the teachers’ need to also eat their lunches, as they are accessing peer support on their lunch hour
